Seneca, South Carolina

The City of Seneca was founded August 14, 1873 as "Seneca City" and chartered on March 14, 1874. Its location was determined by the junction of two railroad lines connecting Charlotte and Atlanta. In the Spring of 1873, railroad engineers projected that the connecting point would be where the city is now located.
